4D Animation explores a 3 Dimensional object's (X, Y & Z axis - or width, height and depth) aventure throughout time as it moves through space. Even a bouncing ball will become compressed as it strikes the ground, the sides expand as the bottom pushes pressure up into the sides. It becomes flatter as well because the top part is still traveling down when the bottom portion is stopped by the brrier of the ground.
As a robot may walk through space the motion is very exact, with very little difference between steps, arm swings, body language or facial expression.
As a human being moves through time, the kinetics of his/her gate will differ depending upon where their attention is, their mood, even their thinking may effect the look as they remember something and snap their fingers in a hurried flash.
It is the animator's job to make you believe that the ball is real and bounces because of its elasticity and form according to the laws of physics which can only be interpretted. But it is also the animating artist's job to give that cold hard robot character and make it come alive so that it is interesting and holds your attention. And the human walking across the stage has to not only look life-like, but has to be emotionally readable, or the illusion will fail.
We are just getting started here. Please be patient as we setup the website. Look for more from us in the future.
